Reflections
I see the world in snapshots. I want to freeze every moment, bottle it up, and save it for a rainy day. I think it comes from my general sappy and sentimental nature, a fact my mother, husband, and just about anyone who knows me well can attest to. While I don’t believe in living in the past, I do believe there’s something sacred about now, about this moment. We all know the “a picture is worth a thousand words” line - a tad trite? absolutely; but true? without a doubt. To fully embrace who we are, where we came from, and most importantly where we’re going, I believe we have to truly appreciate where we are right now. Photography helps me do that by teaching me to see the beauty in the ordinary, the special in the simple, and the magic in the mundane. I hope my photography can begin to help my clients learn do the same.
I believe in photo journalistic, “boutique” style photography- combining candid elements with retro and modern techniques to develop individual photos that capture the beauty, individuality, and uniqueness of you and your family. That’s why I shoot on location - no two sessions will ever look the same and that’s how I prefer it. I believe in capturing people at their most natural, at getting more than an image but the emotions and sentiments of moments in time. We’ll have fun on our shoot - I will take off my shoes, crawl around on the ground, get in all sorts of crazy angles and positions, make silly faces and noises at your kids - whatever it takes to get great shots and most importantly to have fun. The experience should not only create great photos but be a memorable and enjoyable day for your family as well.
To sum up my photography approach….
