Maddie

August 11th, 2008

Maddie our neighbor is such a doll.  Always teasing my Charlie by withholding her kisses, they seem to have started a “cat and mouse” courtship I hope will phase out before adolescence.  We had to do 2 shoots - some icky super sunny lighting at Baker Lake made the first session really difficult, so we did a mini-reshoot at their home.  Maddie was fun and silly and just her cute self.  My Charlie has good taste.

Sleeping Beauty

August 11th, 2008

So I may have mentioned that I have a curse with newborns never sleeping for our photo shoots.   Well, precious Lanie broke the curse and slept through practically the entire shoot!  What a dream - it was fantastic and made everything so much easier.  I certainly understand newborns (and kids in general) are going to do what they’re going to do, and we can still get some great shots when they are awake, but if we are so fortunate to get a sleepy one, things just move faster and we can get more variety since we can bend and mold them without protest.

Little Man

August 7th, 2008

Oh they are so big and grow so fast.  Little man Carter, just turned 3, and is such a cute little guy.  He reminds me of my little one - a much bigger, older little one, but nonetheless, just an adorable little baby boy on the verge of being an actual “kid.”  He loved his fishing pole but still listened very well when we had to take photo breaks.  There were so many great shots to choose from - I could have blogged them all!  What a gorgeous and sweet family - we had such a great time.  And yes, I’ve got MORE silhouettes - I told you, it’s my new thing.

One of my absolute favorites - I’m definitely going to be using this somewhere in my marketing on on my site.  He looks so cute looking up at mamma’s belly!

I love the “real” smiles here - everybody looks happy and that’s the goal.

New favorite photo ever (until next week).  This I am definitely making into a sample gallery wrapped canvas (I’ve been working on ordering more samples).  This image will be perfection!

Cade, Cole, Kierra, and Kennedy

August 1st, 2008

What a bunch.  These siblings were too cute and have a beautiful home that was very picture friendly.  With a gorgeous stone patio and tons of flowers, their backyard made a great backdrop.

Your Inner Model

July 21st, 2008

Yup, another incredible maternity session.  I’m not kidding, I have the most beautiful clients ever! I love these type of sessions so much because it’s not everyday that ordinary women and moms get to tap their inner model, flaunt their gorgeous side, and get time dedicated to just photographing & appreciating how truly beautiful they really are.  I think more women should do this, not just those expecting.  Get some friends together and go in on a session (up to four included for the standard rate) and just indulge your inner goddess for a few hours.  What a great gift for that special someone or just for no one else but you.

Anyways, Amy was so sweet, so nice, and so unbelievably beautiful.  I’m not kidding, I swear she could be a model tomorrow.  Already a mom to 2 (yes, you heard right) and fellow Tonican, we clicked and had a great time out at her parent’s land near Utica.  Her little baby is already scheduled for photos so check back soon to see if it’s a girl or boy!

Hot Mama

July 18th, 2008

Man, I love maternity sessions.  I think they are my new fav of the moment.  Natalie is such a beautiful mama to-be and was up for posing all over the place.  Keep checking back for photos of her little man who is scheduled to debut in a few short weeks!

Another One Year Old Princess

July 15th, 2008

They’re everywhere I look!  Adorable little girls, with fluffy tutus and big blue eyes.  Little Camryn will turn one in a few days and brought her parents all the way to Ottawa from Plainfield for her big photo shoot.   Although it was hot and humid (very humid) she held up pretty well and kept smiling her cute smile.  I hear she’s having a big party on Saturday.  Happy birthday Camryn!

Pretty Payton

July 11th, 2008

What a beautiful newborn!  Payton was so alert and had the most intense eyes and beautiful head of dark hair.  She was very interested in the camera, staring me down with those “what are you doing?” eyes.  Her mamma Jodie’s maternity photos were up just a few weeks ago, and now, baby has arrived.  Ahhh, so sweet.  I love getting to watch the babies, and parents, grow and change over the months and years.  It’s the icing on my photo cake.

4 Month Peanut

July 10th, 2008

Lil’ Emily was a premie but doing so great as a 4 month old chubster.  Really filling out and wooing her mamma with her cute smiles.  As her neighbor, it is nice to walk, literally, next door for work and be home in a snap.  She has changed so much since her tiny newbie session but continues to look just like her daddy!

My First Senior Session

July 8th, 2008

Oh my gosh I may have found my new calling!  I had my first senior session last week and I absolutely loved it!  I still love babies, but there is something wonderful about someone who is cooperative and wants their photos taken.  I was kind of nervous but I think it went really well.  We walked around downtown Ottawa looking for urban-esque locations.  I just want something different.  I guess that is my style for seniors - anything but traditional.  And while I do wonder how I’d be able to accomodate those wanting more traditional, studio style photos.  Maybe I just won’t do those and stick to my own thing.  Something truly individual for the senior wanting something special.

If you know anyone who still needs their senior photos done this year, please pass on my info.  I would love to do more!
